CSM earns Emerald’s Citations of Excellence Award 2017

Dr. Philip Beske-Janssen, Professor Eric Hansen and Dr. Johanna Klewitz have won the prestigious  ‘Citations of Excellence Award 2017’. The scientific publishing group Emerald awards these prizes annually for publications in the field of economics which are cited with particular frequency by other academics.  The above mentioned scientists are members or former scientists at the Centre of Sustainability Management (CSM).

One Prizewinning article entitled ‘Sustainable supply chain management practices and dynamic capabilities in the food industry’ was published by Dr. Philip Beske-Jansen, together with Anna Land and Professor Stefan Seuring – both University of Kassel – in the International Journal of Production Economics.

Sustainable Supply Chain Management

Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) and Dynamic Capabilities (DCs) are both relatively young research fields examining dynamically changing corporate environments and industries. Their article aims at describing how Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) practices allow companies to maintain control over their supply chain and achieve a competitive advantage with the implementation of dynamic capabilities.

Sustainability-oriented innovations and SME

Johanna Klewitz’s and Eric Hansen’s paper stretches upon sustainability and innovation of small and medium sizes enterprises (SME).  It was published in Journal of Cleaner Production. Their paper ‚Sustainability-oriented innovation of SMEs: A systematic review‘ analyzes the heterogeneous picture research has drawn within the past 20 years with a focus on the innovation practices including different types of sustainability-oriented innovations (SOIs) and strategic sustainability behaviors of SMEs through an interdisciplinary, systematic review.
