About the Job – Research on Competence Development in Sustainability Entrepreneurship Education
This research focuses on competence development in sustainability entrepreneurship education through consultative learning and other interactive learning formats, in which aspects of creativity and self-directedness play a key role. Research will be conducted on two sustainability entrepreneurship courses for undergraduate and graduate students. Based on an in-depth comparative case study between Leuphana University of Lüneburg and Arizona State University, this research aims to generate robust insights in competence development on the level of individual courses to inform university instructors, administrators, and students.
You will be expected to work closely with the research consortium, including other PhD students, postdoctoral associates, and Principal Investigators.
Tasks and responsibilities
This position’s focus is on the role of consultative settings to support the development of competencies essential for sustainability entrepreneurs. This study will adopt and refine a research design to better understand competence development throughout consultative learning procesess. Innovative assessment procedures will be explored. Teaching and learning processes will be investigated empirically through review of course materials, in-vivo observations, as well as individual and focus-group interviews.
Essential selection criteria:
- Masters or equivalent degree in a relevant field, i.e. Sustainability Science, Educational Science et al.;
- Knowledge of higher education for sustainable development;
- Familiarity with qualitative case study research;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in German and English;
- Ability and willingness to work in an international research project with work packages in Germany and USA;
Additional desirable selection criteria:
- Interest in entrepreneurship education;
- Experience with empirical social science methods such as conducting interviews and analyzing interview data
